How to Use MemoHelp – Your Complete Guide

What is MemoHelp?

MemoHelp is a free web app that transforms any screen — a TV, tablet, desktop monitor, or phone — into a clean, always-on reminder board. It displays a customizable title, up to 5 tasks, background images, and quick-access links in a beautiful fullscreen layout.

Whether you need a daily task board in your office, a family reminder screen in the kitchen, or a digital signage display for a business — MemoHelp is designed to be simple, distraction-free, and always visible.

Getting Started

When you first open MemoHelp, you’ll be taken to the Settings page. Here’s how to set up your board:

  1. Set a title — Give your board a name (up to 40 characters). For example: “Today’s Tasks”, “Family Reminders”, or “Office Info”.
  2. Add tasks — Fill in up to 5 task lines (50 characters each). Leave any line blank to skip it.
  3. Choose a background — Pick a color from the palette or upload a custom image.
  4. Add quick links — Optionally add up to 3 shortcut buttons with labels and URLs that appear on your display.
  5. Save & Display — Hit “Save Settings” and your board goes live in fullscreen mode.

Backgrounds & Slideshow

You can personalize your board with:

  • Solid colors — Choose from 16 predefined colors (dark and light options).
  • Custom images — Upload JPEG, PNG, or WebP images (up to 5 MB each).
  • Slideshow mode — Logged-in users can upload multiple images and enable a crossfade slideshow that cycles through them automatically.

Text automatically adjusts between light and dark colors depending on your background, so it’s always readable.

Title & Tasks

Your board displays a large, bold title at the center of the screen, followed by your task list. Tasks appear as clean bullet points with teal accent markers.

The layout is designed for no scrolling — everything fits on one screen, optimized for readability from a distance (perfect for wall-mounted displays and TVs).

Quick-Access Links

Add shortcut buttons to the bottom-right corner of your display. Each link has a label and a URL, and opens in a new tab when tapped. Use them for:

  • Company intranet or shared documents
  • Calendar or scheduling tools
  • Emergency contacts or important pages
  • Any frequently accessed website

Display Controls

When viewing your board, move the mouse or tap the screen to reveal the floating toolbar at the top. It auto-hides after 3 seconds for a clean look. The toolbar includes:

  • Fullscreen — Enter or exit fullscreen mode.
  • Settings — Go back to edit your board.
  • Install — Install MemoHelp as an app on your device.
  • Share — Share MemoHelp via WhatsApp.

Multi-Language Support

MemoHelp supports 8 languages: English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, Russian, Hindi, Arabic, and Hebrew. The interface fully supports right-to-left (RTL) layouts for Arabic and Hebrew.

Switch languages anytime from the globe icon in the Settings page header.

Account & Cloud Sync

MemoHelp works without an account — your settings are saved locally on the device. However, creating a free account unlocks:

  • Cloud sync — Your settings sync across all your devices in real time.
  • Multiple background images — Upload several images and enable slideshow mode.
  • Persistent storage — Your data is safely stored in the cloud, not just in the browser.

Sign up or log in from the user icon in the top-left corner of the Settings page.

Device Compatibility

MemoHelp is optimized for a wide range of devices:

  • Smart TVs & Android TV — Use the built-in browser or a kiosk app.
  • Fully Kiosk Browser — Perfect for dedicated Android displays running in kiosk mode.
  • Tablets & phones — Install as a PWA for an app-like experience.
  • Desktop computers — Use any modern browser in fullscreen.

MemoHelp uses a Wake Lock to prevent the screen from dimming while the display is active.

Install as an App (PWA)

MemoHelp can be installed as a Progressive Web App on most devices. This gives you:

  • A home screen icon — launch MemoHelp like a native app
  • Fullscreen by default — no browser chrome
  • Offline capability — works even without internet (with cached data)

To install, tap the Install button in the display toolbar, or visit the Install page from the navigation menu.

Pro Tips

  • Use short, clear task descriptions for best readability from a distance.
  • Dark backgrounds with light text work best for always-on displays.
  • Enable slideshow mode with scenic photos to make your board visually engaging.

  • Clear the cache from the Settings page if you experience display issues.
